MULTI-MONTI Ø10x80 - EX 16 - HCR

art. 502 OLD

This special type of screw is highly recommended for use in fixed mountaineering and climbing anchors, and otherwise in all situations where high resistance to corrosion is important.

In practice this highly corrosion-resistant screw (see information below) can often be used in the place of stainless steel anchors.

However it is important tothat this screw's corrosion resistance is inferior to the Stainless Steel Hang Fix bolts produced by our company, but the low cost of this screw is an important factor when choosing this screw over the stainless steel equivalent.

We therefore advise caution when considering these factors so as to avoid future “regrets”.

The battery life of the hand drill is extended as the holes must only be 8mm wide and 80mm deep.

This anchor is exceptionally strong and guarantees a high level of safety. However it is recommended to place the screw in an area of compact and solid rock.

Despite this the 80mm-long shank does allow for placement in softer rocks such as sandstone and some soft limestone.

This screw is excellent value for money and although rarely necessary, it can be reused multiple times. To screw, use a 16mm hex key.

MULTI-MONTI anchors are produced and patented by the German company HECO SCHRAUBEN KG & Co.

It is an innovative self-threading screw system and is highly resistant and practical.

The first part of the Multi-Monti thread is characterised by thread serration/teeth.

When screwed, the anchor cuts into the material and creates the space for the rest of the screw.

Unlike traditional screw anchors, the Multi-Monti system does not exert excess tension on the material, reducing the risk of damage or breakage.

The Multi-Monti system also differs from traditional permanent mechanical or resin anchors in that it can be easily unscrewed and reused.

This procedure should not be employed more than three times on rock and only once on granite.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

THE “DP” (Delta Protekt) PROTECTIVE COATING

With aggressive atmospheric or chemical agents, the use of galvanised steel is highly ill-advisable if not forbidden entirely.

In recent years however the cost of corrosive-resistant steel has also increased dramatically.

Heco Schrauben’s experience in the production of anchor systems and their continued focus on innovation has led to the development of HECO-MULTI-MONTI DP-coated screw anchors.

The base retains the standard 8.8 type steel version as per traditional MULTI-MONTI screws.

However instead of plating the screw with zinc, a special layer of a newly-conceived material - already widely used in the car manufacturing industry - has been applied.

This substance is inorganic and biological, conforming to European standards in terms of safety and environment impact, as well as being Hexavalent Chromium-free.

The key difference to traditional galvanisation / passivation treatments is the vastly increased resistance to corrosion.

Compared with the traditional white finish used on many metallic anchor systems, resistance in salt-spray tests was measured as 20-30 times higher. These values are even higher than those for hot-dip galvanised steel.

The MMS-DP, available with a hex head, is also covered under the European Technical Approval ETA 05/0010 as for other HECO-MULTI-MONTI screws between Ø 7.5 mm and Ø 16.0 mm.

The DP treatment is also used in the HECO-HCS calculation programme under the heading HCR (High Corrosion Resistance).

Copies of the certification, technical manual, calculation programme and all other technical and promotional material regarding the HECO-MULTI-MONTI anchor screw systems can be provided on request by RAUMER srl.

Multi-Monti anchors are very resistant and reliable. Below is the Multi-Monti range stocked by RAUMER, with the corresponding dimensions, strengths and product codes.
